For our meeting Monday, May 8th 2023, we welcome
Investigative Reporter John Monk.

John Monk grew up in Maryland, attended Davidson and Amherst colleges and served as a medic in the U.S. Army in Panama.

He has covered local, state and national government and was Washington correspondent for The Charlotte Observer. He is an investigative reporter and has covered numerous cases that wound up in state and federal courts, including the death penalty trial of Dylann Roof and the recent Murdaugh murders case. He has won numerous state and national awards and was the 2021 S.C. Journalist of the Year.
