Dawn Darby is co-founder and executive director of The Therapy Place, Inc. in Forest Acres. Dawn received her bachelor of arts degree in media arts and a master’s degree in public administration with an emphasis in nonprofits and grants, both degrees from the University of South Carolina.

Dawn’s professional experience includes working at SC Educational Television as the statewide ready to learn program coordinator and with Richland County as the grants manager. In 2010, Dawn left her job with the Indian Waters Council/Boy Scouts of America, where she was the grants & development manager, to pursue the dream of The Therapy Place full-time.

Dawn has been married to James for nearly 23 years and they have 2 children – Cooper, 19 year-old sophomore at USC and Laura, 15, a sophomore at AC Flora. The Darby’s live in Forest Acres and attend Trenholm Road United Methodist Church.
