A message from President-Elect John Bakhaus:
The reception by our members for this Christmas Project has been outstanding! It has created a real buzz in the Club.
Here’s what we are asking you to do:
- Bring in a nice used suitcase (or two) to our meeting on December 7th.
- Put a gift (maybe an article of clothing and/or a toy) in the suitcase. Toys and anything else should be appropriate for a male or female child from age 1- 18yrs.
- Put a tag on the suitcase indicating the age and gender of the child for your gift.
- The suitcases and gifts will be delivered to Katrina’s kids, a charity founded by Senator Katrina Shealy. These folks will match the suitcase, and gift to an appropriate child.
Your gifts will provide more joy than you can imagine!
Our fellow Club Member, Gary Snyder, has made a very kind offer. Gary is founder of Coats for Kindness, a charity, which gives coats to needy children. Coats for Kindness will give up to 100 new coats for the children who will be receiving our suitcases/gifts. Any member, who would like to make a donation to Coats for Kindness ( a 501-C3) to support Gary’s kind offer, may do so at the December 7th meeting.
