On Monday, July 18, 2016 we will have Helen Pridgen join us from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
Helen is a professional social worker currently serving as South Carolina Area Director for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). She is a principal founder of the AFSP-SC Chapter and served as Board Chair for three years. She is involved at the community, state, and national levels in suicide prevention efforts.
The SC Chapter has received national recognition through the Outstanding Chapter Education Program Award, Outstanding Chapter Advocacy program Award, Outstanding Support of Research, Perseverance Award, Outstanding Public Relations, and Chapter of the Year Award.
The AFSP is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide.
