For our meeting Monday, August 11th, 2025, we welcome 
Ashley Chastain Woodard, Head Softball Coach, University of South Carolina (USC). 

Ashley Chastain Woodard, a former three-year Gamecock pitcher, was named USC’s 11th head softball coach in 2024. In her first season at Carolina, Ashley took the program one win away from the World Series. The Gamecocks finished the season with a 44-17 overall record, earned the No. 8 National Seed, won the Columbia Regional, and hosted a Super Regional for the first time in program history. For her efforts, she was named the D1Softball Coach of the Year. Ashley returned to South Carolina after serving as head coach for the Charlotte 49ers for five seasons, where she led her teams to a 154-96 overall record, two NCAA post-season berths the program’s first conference regular-season and tournament championships, and first-ever national ranking in school history. She was the pitching coach at the College of Charleston, Michigan State and Ole Miss, where she was named Softball America’s Pitching Coach of the Year. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in secondary education from USC. She married Robert Woodard, the head baseball coach at Charlotte, in November.
