For our meeting Monday, September 8th, 2025, we welcome
Tanner Bronson, Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of South Carolina.

Governor McMaster

USC assistant basketball coach Tanner Bronson is entering his ninth season working with Gamecocks head coach Lamont Paris — five seasons at University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and now four seasons here in Columbia.

He has assisted Coach Paris with turning around two programs. Tanner was helped lead Chattanooga from a 10-23 record in year one to 27-8 mark and an NCAA Tournament appearance by year five.

At USC, Tanner was part of a staff that orchestrated the greatest single-season turnaround in USC program history when the Gamecocks went 26-8 in 2023-24 and returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in seven years. A native of Glendale, Wisc., Tanner joined the University of Wisconsin basketball team as a walk-on and would earn a scholarship under legendary coach Bo Ryan. While with the Badgers, Tanner was a part of four NCAA Tournament appearances. He has served as an assistant coach with Sioux Falls Skyforce (G-League), UNLV and Saint Louis, where his teams made three NCAA Tournament appearances. Coach Paris has credited Tanner with being a talented teacher, evaluator and recruiter who helps build a winning culture. During his time at USC, the Gamecocks recruited GG Jackson, the highest-rated signee in program history who was drafted by the Memphis Grizzles, and Collin Murray-Boyles, a star who was drafted ninth overall by the Toronto Raptors earlier this year.

Bronson and his wife Jen have three sons — twins Max and Otto, and Henry.
