Columbia Rotary Club is honored to host Corporal Kyle Carpenter on Monday, January 5, 2015. What a strong way to start off the New Year! We are expecting a large crowd for this event so get there early to secure your seat. Guests are welcomed and encouraged.
Kyle Carpenter is the second living, and youngest, Marine Medal of Honor Recipient since the beginning of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was injured by an enemy hand grenade in November of 2010 and spent two and a half years in recovery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. In the fall of 2013, Kyle enrolled as a freshman at the University of South Carolina, where he is currently pursuing a degree in International Studies. He received his Medal of Honor on June 19, 2014.
