Please join us Monday April 1st 2019

For our meeting Monday April 1st 2019 we welcome Paula Gordon.

The Gordon Garden by Paula and Malcolm Gordon

Paula Gordon gets her love of gardening from her grandmother and her dad. She must admit that things did not start out that way.  As a child she did not appreciate her father’s mandatory Saturday morning instructions in basic yard maintenance.  But her love of flowers won over her disinterest in mundane weeding, and she became an avid gardener herself.  Her Catawba Street garden has 7 flower rooms, and every year she plants 200 tulips in her front yard.  She and her husband, Malcolm, have had their garden on tour three times in the last 25 years.  She has severed as the president of the Crepe Myrtle Garden Club, as well as the president of Columbia Green.

Besides digging in the dirt, Paula loves traveling, needlepoint, and building dollhouses, which she furnishes with their own miniature gardens. Before retirement, she was an ancient history teacher in Richland School District Two.  Malcolm and Paula have two grown daughters.
